I joined GfK What I Say and Do Panel (GfK WISAD for short) last year. Though I can’t see where it’s specified, I’m assuming it’s only open to UK residents simply because the join-up form asks for a postcode not a zip code.

Survey Frequency…

I tend to get one survey a month from GfK and the surveys are usually the same. I’ll get asked things like what my monthly phone and internet usage is, whether I’ve rented out a DVD or gone to the cinema in the last month, that kinda thing.

Time It Takes…

The survey doesn’t take long to complete: 10-15 minutes tops. For my time, I get entered into a prize draw (400 x £5 worth of shopping vouchers / 2500 x £2 worth of shopping vouchers).

No Money Per Survey? Just a Prize Draw?

I must say, I’m not into being entered into a prize draw when I complete a survey. I run a mile from those as I’d rather just get paid for it, plus, in my experience, I never win anything anyway. I’m usually dubious about whether these prize draws ACTUALLY exist and whether it’s just a ploy to get info off people for nothing. However, GfK has proven to be the exception. To date, I’ve won 4 times (£2 vouchers each time). Here is my more recent win. I got it in the post today.

Now it’s not much in the grand scheme of things – only £8 in total – but it feels good to actually win something.

So What Happens When You Win?

When you get the email informing you of your win (and how much), there’ll be a voucher code. You click on the link in the email, follow the directions and insert your code. Once you’ve done that, you’ll see a list of vouchers you can claim (e.g. Boots, HMV, Iceland and Amazon vouchers). You pick the one you want, type in your address and make your order. I’m used to getting my vouchers in a week to 2 weeks from the time of my claim, but my last one only took a couple of days to reach me.

That’s It Really…

If you do join GfK, good luck. Hope you win. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, you get entered into an additional prize draw if you complete a survey by a particular time. It’s called the Early Bird WISAD prize draw for which you’re in with a chance of winning one of the following if you’re lucky:

– first prize: £100 worth of vouchers
– second prize: 2 x £50 worth of vouchers
– third prize: 5 x £20 worth of vouchers

Right. That truly is it. Again, good luck if you decide to join.
